Privacy and cookies

In short

You don't need an account to use DateTips, and we don't ask for personal data to show you date spots. Your favourites are stored only in your own browser.

What we store

• Favourites: stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never sent to us.
• Consent choice: we store your choice from the consent banner locally so we don't have to ask every time.
• Editor account: only for those of us who run the site. Email and login details are handled by our login/database provider.

Anonymous usage statistics

We anonymously count which pages and places are visited, which filters are used, and whether people click through to maps or venue websites. The statistics stay with us – we set no cookies for this, store no user ID and no personal data. We only use it to improve the content.

Third parties

• Google Maps: maps and venue photos are loaded from Google. Google may receive your IP address and set cookies.
• Ads: if we show third-party ads, the advertiser may set cookies for measurement and personalisation. This only happens if you consent.

Your choices

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Change consent” link in the footer, and you can clear local storage in your browser settings.
